Mission & Values

By Bobby Nguyen – English Level 3

“I still remembered the first time I came to Singapore about two months ago. The worst thing that I had to face was studying English as it was difficult for me since I could not speak a sentence. The most horrible event for me was when I wanted to alight at the bus stop where I am living but could not ask for directions. This made me lose confidence and gave me stress, but MIS has helped me push back the days of overcast. By their improving methods in education, MIS helps their student who meets with obstacles, become more self-confident and be able to speak the language fluently. For that reason, now I no longer worry when walking along the streets of Singapore or chatting with friends from other countries. It’s amazing! So I really want to say “Thank you” to MIS and my English teacher, Devi who was very caring and helped me a lot in the learning process and strengthened my knowledge. As a result, it became a wonderful chance and experience in my life.”

“My name is Billy Nguyen and I’m studying Intermediate English at the Marketing Institute of Singapore. I’ve been learning English for two months now. My first impression of MIS was that they had considerate teachers. My teacher always shows concern for students and she has been doing everything that she can that will help us do better. My English skills are weak but practice makes me better. Besides, MIS took us on a trip to Sentosa and the Singapore Zoo every term! I had the occasion to practice my speaking skills and also befriend students from other classes. I have homework everyday and advices from the English teachers. One should read the newspaper and practice writing if one would like to improve in the English language. I got some internet addresses to practice listening English which is my worst skill. I like the method of teaching English at MIS. Sometimes we have a mini game in class and it is very helpful for our speaking, listening and vocabulary. I feel stress sometimes but my teacher always shared with us funny stories to make us smile and so I never feel bored in class.”

“Although I have just joined in this big family – MIS (Marketing Institute of Singapore), I can feel how professional it is. When I came to Singapore, I found lots of different private schools for my new school days in Singapore. The main reason why I chose MIS is the first image of the customer service. While I came to MIS customer service office, I used my bad English to ask them lots of questions, they did not look down on me but answered my queries in detail and explained all information to me. Now, I am one of the members of MIS and here you can find that the lecturers are extremely helpful and tolerant and they will definitely help you as much as they can. Students are also welcomed to use all the facilities that MIS provides, such as wireless, library and drinks machine. Besides, MIS will hold some activities to help students to know more about each other and Singapore, and practise their usage of English at the same time. All in all, if you are interested in Marketing or want to improve your English, MIS is the best choice for you to have your professional education.”

“I am a Chinese girl and I started to learn English in MIS three months ago. At this moment, I’m happy to tell you about my life in MIS. In my opinion, although MIS does not have a commodious building, it is still full of space to learn and expand. A famous saying goes, “Even if a university is big, it actually is not; but its academic quality should be wide”. MIS is a place where I hold dearly in my heart. In our school, when we finished one level, we will have holidays to rest. Our teachers often bring us to visit some famous tourist spots in Singapore. For example, Sentosa,East Coast,Singapore Zoo and so on. It’s very interesting for me. You need to use English to speak anytime during this relaxing day because one can breathe fresh air and appreciate the blue sea. How pleasing is it! I like to practise speaking English because you can make a lot of friends from all over the world.

In short, I can’t forget MIS forever. Because I feel the sociable atmosphere in MIS and that is why I often remain happy and free in my school life. Thank you MIS. Thank you my angel teacher and good friends in MIS. I gain the truthful friendship because of you.”
